Calypso

In May of 2000 a white fluffy white bunny came home with me. Today she left me with fond memories...
Calypso and I participated in the pet therapy program with Hand in Paw in Birmingham for years. We visited many locations including Children's Hospital general population and psychiatric unit, St. Vincent's pediatric ward, Exceptional Foundation for mentally challenged adults, libraries with Sit Stay Read program, elderly care facilities, and other programs as volunteers. Calypso touched many children and adult clients and also staff members with her gentle and calming manner. She taught people about rabbits first-hand and just how soft a bunny can be. She and the other animal members of the pet therapy program were personally responsible for some amazing and heart-touching healing experiences.
Calypso taught me that love comes in many forms and she left paw prints on my heart.
