Need a New Home for Your Rabbit?

Because we have more rabbits in need of foster homes than we have space, we cannot foster rabbits from individuals. Although it is heartbreaking, we cannot take in every rabbit so we focus our rescue efforts on rabbits in shelters whose time has run out. We always have a waiting list and a vacant space is usually filled within hours of an adoption.
If it is truly impossible for you to keep your rabbit, please read "Finding a Home For Your Rabbit," and list him on our website and Petfinder.com. If you cannot keep your rabbit until a new home has been found, PLEASE take him to a shelter.
However, if your rabbit has a behavioral issue that is making him difficult to live with, like refusing to use his litter box, we can help. Contact us.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Our Beautiful New Bunny Room
Thank you to our volunteers who made the makeover of our bunny room possible. As Linda said "I am just so grateful to all of our volunteers. We've been wanting to accomplish this for years and it would not have happened without them."
OUR FEATURED SINGLE RABBIT: Roger
At some point we knew it was going to happen: we'd need to name a foster bunny Roger.
Here is what makes Roger special: He is perhaps the most social bunny we have ever had show up on our doorstep. Seriously. When visitors arrive, Roger runs to the edge of his apartment, sticks his nose through and begs, BEGS for attention.
This little boy has been neutered and is ready for his forever home. Are you ready to meet him?
BunnyFest Volunteers Needed
Thank you to everyone who turned out to help plan BunnyFest 2010. Our fabulous chair of the planning committee, Lee Anne, will be sending out an email with all kinds of details for those of you who were at the meeting.
If you'd like to get involved, but missed the planning meeting, just send us an email info@alabamaears.org.
The event itself BunnyFest 2010 is scheduled for Saturday, October 30, 2010. BunnyFest is an informational event open to the public and will be a celebration of 10 years of Alabama EARS as well as a celebration of bunnies!
BunnyFest is an informational event open to the public and will be a celebration of 10 years of Alabama EARS as well as a celebration of bunnies! it's a combination of our BYOB (Bring Your Own Bunny) party and an educational event. We've even lined up a fabulous guest speaker who will talk about some basic (and not-so-basic) things everyone must know about their bunnies.
LINKS TO FUN THINGS
DONATE TO EARS BY BUYING HAY FOR YOUR BUNNY
Dr. Atlas and the folks at Riverview Animal Clinic donate 100% of the profits of hay sales to Alabama EARS. So when you buy a box of premium Oxbow hay for your bunny you can feel warm and fuzzy twice: first when you feed your bun a quality hay and second when you know your purchase helps out the foster buns.
If you're in the market for some toys at the same time, you'll find bags of bunny-safe toys also sold at Riverview Animal Clinic. Profits from toy sales also go directly to the EARS foster bun account at Riverview.
The Hay and Toy fund is how we pay for the majority of our spay, neuter and medical expenses. So next time you need hay (or toys), think of Riverview and you'll be thinking of the EARS buns!
