Hurricane Katrina Rabbits--Homeless no Longer!

Please read our adoption policies and procedures.

Here are some of the bunnies Alabama EARS took after Hurricane Katrina made them homeless. We are happy to report that all of these bunnies have been adopted into wonderful, loving homes. Than you to everyone out there who sent us extra donations to help cover the care of these lovely buns!

claire.jpg

ADOPTED!! Claire came to us from the good people at the Baton Rouge shelter after Hurricane Katriana. We know little of her history but we know she has had a hard time during her short life. Claire is a doll - she is active but very loving, and already runs right up to her foster mom for pets and cuddles! She can't get enough, and is such an easy bunny! Claire is so well-adjusted considering all she has been through. She loves her toys and exploring her space. Claire has been spayed and is ready for adoption to a permanent and very loving home!

midnight.jpg

ADOPTED!! Midnight would love a home where he is the center of attention! He is a very social bunny who enjoys being fussed over and petted. Midnight is also a very active and intelligent rabbit. He loves his toys, and definitely needs room to roam! He is not a picky eater and loves his hay. You'll admire his beautiful fur--Midnight is one handsome fellow! He has been neutered and is now ready to put Katrina behind him in a permanent, loving home.

francis.jpg

ADOPTED!!
Francis is easily the most angelic of our hurricane bunnies - he is gentle, loving, and apparently has no bad habits!! His foster mom and dad just love him, and can't get over what a wonderful bunny he is! He loves to be loved, and, like all our hurricane bunnies, he seems to be so happy to be here and safe. Francis is just a pleasure to be around! He and his friend, Claire, both came from the Baton Rouge Shelter, but they are not a bonded pair and can be adopted separately. Francis has been neutered and is now ready for adoption. His new mom and dad will be very, very lucky to adopt this very lucky and loving bunny!

misspriss.jpg

ADOPTED!! Irma is an adorable little cutie who was nicknamed "Miss Priss" by the Noah's Wish folks because, despite her small size, she has a big attitude! This little girl is quite cage possessive, but we expect that once she is spayed she will calm down a bit! She is already responding to her foster mom's love and attention, and obviously wants to be social. She will be spayed once her thirty day waiting period is over, and will be ready for adoption around mid-November.

stich.jpg

ADOPTED!!
Stitch was surrendered to us by a Katrina evacuee who could no longer care for her. She is a wonderful bunny who has been through a lot, but is still very loving and social. She loves petting and runs to her foster mom for attention and treats. Her beautiful "wild bunny" coloring will delight you--she looks just like an adorable little cottontail! Stitch is great in her litter box and is a good hay eater, too. Stitch has been spayed is ready for adoption.

harry.jpg

ADOPTED!!
Harry has been adopted and is now living in his forever home.

Harry was named after Harry Connick, Jr. - and he's easily as lovable!! He came to us from Noah's Wish, and he is sure glad to be in a safe place after all he has been through! He's a tiny guy at just over two pounds, and he has the sweetest personality. Harry is just a tiny bundle of love! He doesn't mind his foster mom's cuddle sessions one bit. Harry has been neutered and is ready to be adopted.

slidelle.jpg

ADOPTED!!

While he was at Noah's Wish waiting to come to Alabama, Slidell was a special favorite of June Booth, an HRS Educator who worked with him there. It's easy to see how he captured her heart - he is such a wonderful character!! Slidell had a very hard time while at Noah's Wish as he was quite emaciated when he came into their care, but with June's special attention he pulled through. You can be sure we are now continuing her good work with him! Despite the hard time he had he is in great spirits. His foster mom thinks of him as "the Mardi Gras Bunny" as he is just one big party animal - we think he is so happy to have come through the hurricane that he just wants to celebrate! Slidell has a great personality and is so easy to love. He has been neutered and is ready to be adopted.

ollie.jpg

ADOPTED!!
Ollie came to us from the Baton Rouge shelter. He is as cute as a button and a very easy bunny to love! Despite all he has been through he is very laid back and has no apparent behavior problems. He is quite social and runs to his foster mom for treats and pets. His litter habits are excellent and he would be a great "husbun" for some lucky bunny girl. He'd also be a good choice for a first time bunny home. He has been neutered and is more than ready for a permanent, loving home.
